How do I qualify?
Most people will qualify for Medicare by working and paying Social Security taxes for a period of 40 quarters,
or 10 years, and then turning age 65.
Other people may qualify for Medicare by being disabled and receiving Social Security Disability Income for at least 24 consecutive months.
Finally, some people will qualify by being diagnosed with End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD).
But for our purposes here, we will be focused on the majority of people who earned their 40 quarters and turned age 65.

Yes! If you have worked and paid Social Security taxes for at least 10 years, then you AND your spouse will both become eligible to enroll into Medicare at age 65.
Unless you and your spouse were born in the same month of the same year, one of you will become eligible for Medicare before the other.
Depending on your current coverage you’ll want to take that into consideration as one of you gets closer to Medicare
eligibility.
